Walking by the Holy Spirit

I've been memorizing Galatians 5:13-26. I've learned many things. Today I read and read an E-mail resource  from the same passage with NLT version. It challenged me to reflect on my ability to walk by the spirit so I can make right, small choices because I am being led by the Spirit.

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.
Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves."
Gal. 5:16 (NLT)

If I am walking and living by the Spirit, then I am able to choose wisely each moment of the day. The acts of the flesh are not even an issue, and I am walking and exuding the fruits of the spirit...love, joy, peace, kindness, forbearance, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

So I must choose to the live the fruits and not give in to the fleshly acts. I can choose not to be angry and resentful, not to dwell on my hurts, not to gossip, not to spend unwisely.

I do choose to follow the Spirit's leading in every area of my life!

Prayer...for an hour

Praying for an hour is what the Lord is challenging me to do each day. I was thinking...I should get up earlier to pray before I run, and then Steve started doing it. He's getting up at 4:30. I tried today...heard his alarm at 4:30...vaguely, then mine at 5:00...again vaguely, and I got up at 5:30 and missed my opportunity.

Challenged again with the book, The hour that changes the world by Dick Eastman.

Today at work, trying to take that hour.
